About Us

Network Tacoma is a non-profit organization that began in 1990 to help homeless families with children get off the streets and achieve self-sufficiency. We operate 30 units of housing, 14 of which are transitional housing, with the rest being long-term low-income housing.

The mission of Network Tacoma is to provide a program that addresses the root causes of the cycle of homelessness in order to keep the next generation of children off the streets. The typical barriers for families experiencing homelessness are stable employment, transportation, and affordable housing. In addition, we address other issues through case management (e.g. job training, resources, emotional support). After graduating our transitional program, many of our families often move into our long-term low-income housing while they continue to progress. Though there is less oversight for these families, as they have shown stability and a trajectory toward self-sufficiency, there is still support offered as needed.
